Marli

Hey! I’m Marli and I am a personal trainer here at Body Basics!

I have been in the personal training industry for over 7 years, with many years before that working in swimming pools as a lifeguard, instructor, and teacher. I have taught yoga and stretch classes, helping the participants to release tight muscles and relieve the stress that day-to-day life can bring. I have also played my fair share of competitive sports
and coached as well.

After seeing how the body is so interconnected and moves as one, I started specializing in rehabilitation and conditioning for athletes, as well as for people who have mystery injuries where they can’t figure out what is going wrong. I also love to help people become stronger and see growth in the body that carries them everyday!

Working out in the gym can seem overwhelming at times but when you have the right person working with you, you will see your full potential and become stronger each day. Let’s have a chat and see what I can do to help you reach your goals, and see where your body
can take you! Looking forward to working with you :)

Charley

Hey! I’m Charley and I am a personal trainer here at Body Basics!

Health and fitness has always played a huge role in my life. My fitness journey began with sports. I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years. Due to a rough injury I had to quit the sport and that's when I started weightlifting. I have grown to have a passion for lifting and helping others with their own fitness journey. I love watching people grow and develop in their own way.

I have also studied kinesiology at Red Deer College. I excel in strength training and will help you work towards the goals you have always desired. I know what it's like starting out in the gym unsure, but I will help you to be the most confident version of yourself. The gym is my favourite part of the day and I would love to make it yours as well.

Fun fact about me is you will never catch me skipping a leg day ;)

Ramona

Hey! I’m Ramona and I am a personal trainer here at Body Basics!

I grew up playing team sports like basketball and hockey and as a kid I always loved being active. In 2016 I started kickboxing, and in 2018 I ran my first obstacle course race (I now love running obstacle courses and lead a weekly OCR workout group). I like trying new things, and challenging what my body can do, so I understand what it feels like to a beginning at something and unsure of yourself.

I'm passionate about helping others, and became interested in being a trainer to share my love of exercise, and to help others start their journey or continue their progress. For me, exercise is about so much more than just losing weight, it's about feeling good and being able to do the things that you want to do.

Lana

Hey! I’m Lana and I am a personal trainer here at Body Basics!

I've been a personal trainer here at Body Basics for a long time (over 5 years!). I've been doing obstacle course racing since 2014 as well as running half and full marathons so injury-free racing is one of my fitness passions. Due to back injury that I've suffered I know the importance of working out safely and preventative maintenance. This has led to one focus of mine being stabilizing exercises and making sure all my clients have the necessary core strength to exercise without injuring themselves

I also lead one of the group classes here called Full Body Strength so I am used to personal training in both 1-to-1 and group settings so if you have a friend (or two) that you wanted to do personal training with that would be right up my alley ;)

Jacob

Hey! I'm Jacob and I am a personal trainer here at Body Basics.

I am originally from British Columbia and moved to Alberta two years ago. Growing up I was active in hockey, hiking, hunting and fishing. I began my strength training and conditioning journey as a 16-year-old. I was fortunate enough to have a home gym where I developed my technique in strength and conditioning. Through hard work and dedication, I am happy to say I reached 1200 pounds total with the squat, bench, and deadlift.

I did this by using supplementary exercises to build up my lagging muscle groups to eliminate imbalances and build strength safely without injuries. With this training experience and passion for improving myself, I am confident that I know how to help you achieve your goals safely and efficiently.
